Classical ballet tuition based on the Russian ‘Vaganova’ method. Whether ballet is your hobby or you would like a career in dance, Noosa Professional Dance Academy has the program to meet your needs.

We welcome you to come and experience our classes and meet our incredible dance family.

We train our students using the Russian ‘Vaganova’ Method of Classical Ballet. We are affiliated with The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet’s classical ballet technique program developed by founder Christine Walsh AM.

The Australian Conservatoire of Ballet training and assessment, emphasises correct placement, dynamics and performing qualities that are inherent in the Vaganova method.

The Russian Method’s codified technical approach thus emphasises the simultaneous development of both technical proficiency and individual artistry, and a complete range of movement expression that comes out of proper placement and a strong classical dance foundation.

This method encourages a true understanding of basic principles and and provides a solid basis for advanced technical work

Our comprehensive ten year program allows recreational, part time and full time dancers the opportunity to receive the highest level of classical training available on the Sunshine Coast.

Our goal for our dancers, as they progress through the syllabus, that they receive a strong technical grounding while nurturing their individual strengths.

We have an incredible dance family at NPDA and Elite Classical Coaching and encourage our students to become apart of that family when they join the school.

For ages 8 - 14 years old

Starting at Prep Level 1 and going through to Level 5, these classes provide a full understanding of the correct technique, extra vocabulary requirements and theory knowledge in the ‘Vaganova’ tradition.

There are two to three classes per week that students are encouraged to attend-

A Barre class and Centre class.

This enables the dancer to fully focus on each specialty area and receive dedicated training that makes every dancer excel.

Unlike other training, the Vaganova tradition dictates that technical knowledge, not age, defines at what level students are placed and when they are ready to do an exam is at the Directors discretion.

There is an examination for each level that the dancer must do to progress to the next level. This can be learnt over one or two years. The Principal determines who is ready for their ballet exam.
